Simulated non-Gaussian CMB maps

Simulated non-Gaussian temperature and polarization CMB maps. The non-Gaussian simulations have been generated using the algorithm described in 2009ApJS..184..264E up to a multipole moment of l_max = 1024. The transfer functions were computed with CAMB version February 2009 and RECFAST 1.5.

Files are stored in FITS format. Each simulation consists of three files. The spherical harmonic coefficients are provided in dimensionless units, i.e., dT/T.

You may want to use the FITS2ALMS routine of the HEALPix software package to load the Gaussian (alm_l_XXXX_v3.fits) and the associated non-Gaussian (alm_nl_XXXX_v3.fits) part of the simulations.

To generate a CMB map containing non-Gaussianity of local type, compute alm = alm_l + f_NL * alm_nl, where f_NL can be any desired level of non-Gaussianity.

Finally, we also provide the power spectrum in dimensionless units (cl_wmap5_bao_sn.dat), containing, in this order, l, ClTT, ClEE, and ClTE.
